The Daily is a short reason to play every day. It opens once you have cleared five campaign levels, and it holds one battle that every player shares, plus, later, two battles chosen for you.
Today's Battle
Every day there is one battle, Today's Battle, and it is the same for everyone who plays that day: the same map, the same rivals, the same rules. It has a number, so you can talk about it: "Dot Conquest #142" is a particular day's battle. When you have played, the Daily screen lets you copy your result to share it.
Your first attempt at Today's Battle is the one that counts for the day. You can play it again afterwards, for fun or to learn the map.
A new Today's Battle comes each day, counted in whole days of world time (UTC), so everyone's day turns over at the same moment.
Rematch and Practice
After ten cleared campaign levels, the Daily adds two more cards each day, chosen for you from levels you have already cleared:
- The Rematch: a harder card. A level you have beaten, against a general and a twist that make it a real fight.
- The Practice: an easier card, to warm up or to practise a level's idea.
Each card shows everything it changes before you start: the level, the general, how strong the general is, and any twist on the rules. The two cards are always on two different maps, and an entry does not come back for a while after you have seen it.
The cards' difficulty moves with your results: first attempts that go well raise it, ones that go badly lower it. So the cards stay a fair challenge as you improve.
Your record against each general
The Daily keeps your record against each general, from real results in the campaign and the Daily. It is a quick way to see which general gives you trouble: then read how to beat each general.
Pennants
Wins add up on your tally, and the tally earns pennants at 3, 7, 15 and 30 wins. There is no streak to lose and no leaderboard: missing a day costs you nothing. The Daily is meant to be a habit you enjoy, not one you are punished for breaking.
Prizes
A won day can earn a prize: something you can use, such as a Second Wind. Prizes come one a day at most, and only as something you can actually use at the time, otherwise the prize waits for you. In the browser version, a prize is counted on your device's own date.
Coins
The first win on a Daily card also earns Coins, which buy cosmetics: banners and dot skins. Coins are only ever earned by playing.
Tips
- Play Today's Battle fresh. Your first attempt counts; read the card before you press start.
- Use the Practice to learn a level's idea, then try the Rematch.
- Read the twist. A Daily card may bend one rule. It is written on the card.
Where to go next
- A longer challenge: the Gauntlet.
- Playing without a connection: can you play offline.
